The Journal Therapist

Calm Body. Clear Words.

Somatic & expressive writing therapy that turns insight into action.

Therapy with heart, language, and clarity

Meet Nathan: A Therapist Who Helps You Feel Change, Not Just Talk About It

I help adults and couples turn insight into action with a body-first, page-next approach-pairing brief somatic tools with guided writing so you leave each session calmer and clear on your next step. I'm a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT #131572) serving California via secure telehealth, blending trauma-informed care, mindfulness, parts work (IFS), and narrative practices. My style is warm, practical, culturally humble, LGBTQ+ affirming, and respectful of faith and family contexts. We track progress with brief check-ins and simple rituals you can repeat anywhere-so you can feel therapy working in real life.

What My Clients Say.

  • With Nathan's guidance, I've been able to take the message of somatic journal-writing to communities where people have experienced trauma (cancer groups, victims of 9/11, and more). It's like learning a magical formula that helps to soothe, and enrich the expression of what is so deeply felt but hard to articulate. The world needs this healing.

  • My name is Zac and I am a 33-year old gay man. I just finished binge-listening to every episode of the JournalTalk podcast. I wish there were more! What I have enjoyed most is the different types of journal prompts, allowing me to think (and feel!) about myself differently.

The Soul of Success

Success is a concept universally embraced but individually defined. Our definition of success truly depends on our individual goals. For example, your goal might be monetary, a physical accomplishment or a moral achievement. To flesh out this topic, we are adding a few comments made by famous and successful people in diverse fields - similar and familiar concepts to those put forward by the Premier Experts® in this book.
